Every Wednesday during the summers of 2011, the Oklahoma State University will hold a farmers market at the Glenbrook Center East 1120 NW 63, parking lot, Oklahoma City. This June 15, 2011, Wednesday, the farmers market will open from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm and will continue each Wednesdays until the month of August.
The Wednesday Farmer’s Market is an extension of the Saturday Market of OSU-OKC that is held in the university campus at 400 N. Portland Avenue. They are proud to feature diverse and local fresh foods that are grown or made in Oklahoma. Visitors can enjoy a taste of the freshest products like eggs, meats, processed foods, nuts, baked items and dairy. What’s more, these food items are assured organic.
In addition to the fresh produce of Oklahoma, a vast collection of Oklahoma-grown plants are also offered at the Farmer’s market. Fresh cut flowers, handmade skins care, plant materials and even craft items can be found in many different vendors. This will give all visitors a chance to buy directly to the producers and growers of Oklahoma. But, keep in mind that these vendors can only accept cash and check.
The OSU-OKC Farmer’s Market is a member of the Oklahoma Farmers’ Market Alliance. It is also a member of the Oklahoma Grown Farmers’ Market program, which is registered with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
