A celebration of art and nature will soon be underway in Oklahoma City when the “Fall Into Art” Festival takes place next weekend on Sunday, October 21, at Martin Nature Park from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
The “Fall Into Art” Festival is a free family art and nature festival that will feature art exhibits and celebrate the connection between nature and art. Local crafts people and artists will be putting on demonstrations, showing people how to paint with acrylic and water color pencils, spin yarn, recycle textiles, and weave baskets.
There will also be several kids activities, allowing them to tap into their artistic side. Nature-inspired craft booths will teach kids how to create water cycle bracelets, litter collages, recycled vases, and pop bottle bird feeders. Those who want to participate can bring a two-liter plastic bottle to work with.
Of course, a festival would not be complete without live entertainment. Local musicians, Autumn Wind, will be performing live on stage. Nature trails will also be open to enjoy, and there will be free nature and wildlife education at the Nature Education building.
Located at 500 West Memorial Road, Martin Nature Park is a part of Oklahoma City’s Parks and Recreation Department. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. year round, and the public can enjoy it free of charge.
